To the south-west of Moncucco stands Chieri, a medieval city, which became a wine and industrial center in the 19th century, and today is a lively cultural and gastronomic center. It is a city of towers and churches, including the wonderful Gothic-Romanesque Duomo, rebuilt in the fifteenth century, but of Lombard origin, and the fifteenth-century complex of San Leonardo.
In 1864 in the hamlet of Pessione, Martini & Rossi was founded, one of the most important and iconic Italian liquor companies. You can find the Museo Martini which traces the history of wine and winemaking in the area, from antiquity to today.
